Montgomery County Animal Care & Adoption Center
Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center
The Animal Care and Adoption Center (ACAC) opened on April 29, 2017 to provide care to stray and adoptable pets in Montgomery County Virginia.
OUR GOAL
The new center’s primary goal is to increase animal adoptions by expanding visitation and maximizing visibility in a setting where prospective pet owners visit dogs in an outdoor courtyard and cats in community rooms. Through partnerships with local animal groups and volunteers, the center emphasizes increasing adoptions and returning pets to their owners.
OUR CENTER
The Animal Care and Adoption Center’s 16,300-square-foot facility replaces a 1970s-era masonry facility that only housed dogs. The ACAC has the capacity to house 68 dogs and 64 cats. There are 12,600 square feet enclosed and 3,700 square feet covered space. The center is located on five acres at 480 Cinnabar Road, adjacent to the former animal shelter’s location.
Our adoptable bugs (animals) are ready to fly, jump, or squirm into your heart. You won't need an exterminator for these adorable bugs, you will want them in your lap and possibly in your bed! Please visit our Center to meet our adoptable bugs and see if we can find the perfect match for you.
It is best to call our Center to see if the animal you are interested in is still available.
