This listserver was organized in June 1997 by Jesper Hoffmeyer
at Copenhagen University. It is viewed as a media for discussing
various topics in biosemiotics that include but not limited to:
- Origin and evolution of semiosis in living systems
- The structure of semiosis in living systems
- Meaning and value of communicating signs
- Communication in animals and plants
- Bioepistemology (how living systems accumulate knowledge)
- Bioethics (rationale for ethical norms towards various living systems)
