Concept Maps

A concept map is a graphical or pictorial tool that shows concepts and the relationships between them. It combines elements of a map and a flow diagram to link together terms (or concepts) with relational statements. An example is shown below. Your assignment is to develop a more complex concept map using the concept terms and linkage statements provided on the handout. The assignment sheet can be downloaded as a pdf file.

Problems? The concept map drawing tool runs on a desktop applet which requires Java. If you have problems with the applet or get a red 'X', you may need to download the Java plug-in. For Windows systems go to the following site: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp. For Macs, use Software update to install Java.
