Teaching and research in aquatic entomology. Courses include: 4354 Aquatic Entomology (100%), 5014 Introduction to Entomological Research (50%), 5314 Insect Ecology (25%), and 5404 Insect Biosystematics I (25%). Research involves basic ecological studies with applications in natural resource management and environmental protection. Areas of particular interest are: life history, secondary production, functional roles in ecosystems, effects of various perturbations, long-term ecological monitoring, rapid bioassessment, and using mesocosms for assessing the ecological risk of pesticides.
